I have been a collector of many bits and bobs over the years, often drawn towards things for their tactile, auditory and olfactory qualities. The texture when rubbing my nail across it. The weight as it rests in my hand. The low ping as it resonates when set down.
My collection includes many bits of metal, bones, stones (precious and non-precious), and other miscellanea.

I liked the video of you're precious bits n bobs of metal when I saw it first release.
It really resonatedas my Grandson who is autistic has a similar penchant for picking up and acquiring these sort of little ( and larger ) treasures .
He always has something of interest in his coat pocket and likes tactile and mechanical bits especially. Things with cogs and moving parts seem to be particularly helpful in calming his anxiety and social nervousness.
As a child , I loved collecting buttons , I liked all the diverse different materials , designs and patterns . I liked that someone had took the effort to design and make these items and felt sorry they had been discarded as trash .
